David Andrew Roy White is an American actor, screenwriter and businessman. He is also a producer and the co-founder of Pure Flix Entertainment which is a production and distribution studio.

His mother was a music teacher and played a lot of instruments. His brother also used to play a lot of instruments and is now working in the field of music. David A. R. White moved to Los Angeles at the age of 19. After 6 months there he got in the CBS sitcom, Evening Shade (1990-1994). He played the role of Andrew Philipot, the best friend of Burt Reynold’s son. David also made guest appearances in television series like Coach, California Dreams, Melrose Place and Sisters. He played the protagonist in Second Glance. The name of his character was Dan Burgess and his closing line in it “Hey Scotty. Jesus Man” became a meme.

Some of David’s early films are Mercy Streets (2000), Six: The Mark Unleashed (2003) and The Visitation (2006). The film, The Visitation was an adaptation of the novel Bells of Innocence written by author Frank Paretti. For his role in Mercy Streets, he was nominated for the Best Actor Award at the Movie Guide Awards.

He co-founded Pure Flix Entertainment in 2005 with Michael Scott, Russell Wolfe and Elizabeth Travis. It produces family themed and Christian faith movies.

David started directing films in 2010. The first film he directed was The Encounter, which is a 2011 Christian film. The film is about five strangers who get stranded at a dinner being served by the owner who claims himself to be Jesus. The film starred Bruce Marchiano, Jaci Velasquez and the pro-wrestler Steve “Sting” Borden.
