Rajpal Yadav Early Life and Family
Rajpal Yadav was born on 16 March 1971 in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. Any information regarding his parents is not known.
Rajpal Yadav Personal Life
Rajpal Yadav got married at the age of 20 to Karuna. But due to some medical complications, Karuna passed away while giving birth to their daughter, Jyoti Yadav. Their daughter Jyoti is now married. She tied the knot with a banker, Sandeep Yadav in November 2017.
Rajpal Yadav got married for the second time in 2003 to Radha Yadav. The two met for the first time in Canada where Rajpal was shooting film, The Hero (2002). Radha lived in Canada. They met through a common friend. Rajpal had to stay for 10 days in Canada for the shoot. They met regularly during this time, got to know each other and fell in love. After returning to India they kept in touch through calls. After almost 10 months of knowing each other, Radha decided to shift to India and then they got married on 10 May 2003. Rajpal and Radha have two daughters, Harshita Yadav and Rehanshi Yadav.
Rajpal Yadav Education
Rajpal Yadav completed his schooling from Shahjahanpur. He did his bachelors in Political Science, Social Science, Hindi and Hindi Literature from Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University. It was during this time that he started doing theatre. In an interview, Yadav told that he decided to become an actor after he got appreciation by the audience for his role of Govardhan Das in a play called “Andher Nagari, Chaupat Raja”. He got a chance to be a part of this play when theatre personality Vibha Mishra from Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal came for a workshop at Uttar Pradesh Natak Academy.
To pursue theatre further he enrolled himself in Bhartendu Natya Akademi, Lucknow and then Nation School of Drama (NSD), Delhi.
Rajpal Yadav Career
To pursue his acting career Rajpal Yadav moved to Mumbai in 1997. He has played the protagonist in the television serial Mungeri Ke Bhai Naurangilal which aired on Doordarshan. The serial was a sequel to the serial Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne. Rajpal Yadav debuted in the Hindi film industry in the late 1990s. He first rose to popularity with his role in the thriller film Jungle (2000). He essayed the role of the main antagonist in the film. For his role in the film, Jungle, that year Yadav won a Sansui Screen Award for Best Performance in a negative role. He was even nominated for the Screen Best Actor Award for that role.
Although Yadav found big success in negative roles, his preference was more towards comic roles. With his comic role in the romantic-thriller film, Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya (2001), he became a prolific comic enthusiast in Hindi films. A few of his hit films are Hungama (2003), Waqt: The Race Against Time (2005), Garam Masala (2005), Phir Hera Pheri (2006) and Dhol (2007). He is also very well known for his role in the comedy film Chup Chup Ke (2006) because his dialogue from that film “Mujhe sab aata hai, mai iso bilkul sikha dunga” became a popular meme.
Apart from comedy films, Yadav has also been part of some serious films. Some such films are Mai Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hu (2003), Hello! Hum Lallan Bol Rahe Hain, Mirch (2010) and Benny and Babloo (2010). For the film Mai Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hu, Yadav received the Yash Bharati Award. He has also won the Janpad Ratna Award.
In 2012 Rajpal Yadav made his directorial debut with the film Ata Pata Laapata. The film is a musical political satire.
In 2015, Rajpal Yadav made his Telugu film debut with the film Kick 2. He has played the main antagonist in the multilingual film Amma (2018).
Rajpal Yadav has been seen in around 150 feature films in his two-decade-long career. He has acted not just in Hindi and Telugu films but has been seen in English, Kannada, Avadhi and Bengali language films as well.
